The University of Houston-Victoria is kicking the season of giving into high gear with the annual Giving Day campaign on Dec. 3.

The giving campaign is a 24-hour initiative that provides the opportunity for anyone to contribute to UHV to support its mission of ensuring all students have access to a successful education.

This year, the university has set a goal of raising $20,000. If successful, UHV will unlock a generous $5,000 donation from challenge sponsor Keller Wealth Advisors and Keller Associates CPAs, PLLC.

“Giving Day plays a vital role in advancing the university’s fundraising goals and missions, said Kelsey Norgard, UHV director of alumni relations and annual giving. “It demonstrates to our students the power of unity and how significant an impact we can make when we come together for a common cause. We are deeply grateful to our local community and alumni for their unwavering support each year.”

Donations will open at midnight on Dec. 3 and continue until 11:59 p.m. To make donating easy and accessible, UHV will have a total of seven giving booths stationed on campus and in Victoria. Donations can also be made at https://www.uhvconnect.org/page/donate.

Giving booths on campus will be located inside University Center, University West, University Commons and Jaguar Hall. The hours for these locations will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Community giving booth stations will include Target from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Jason’s Deli and Chick-fil-A The Crossroads from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Crossroads Bank from noon to 4 p.m.

Last year, the Giving Day campaign broke a new record of donors, with a total of 592 donors. The campaign brought in a total of $60,451.93, which included a $10,000 challenge gift from sponsor Keller Wealth Advisors and Keller Associates CPAs, PLLC.
