Diversity and Inclusion

Dancer performing at Hispanic Heritage Month event.

Diversity and Inclusion provides educational, cultural, and social programs to foster experiences which create intercultural global citizens who are prepared to thrive in diverse environments. These programs assist students with understanding and appreciating a variety of identities. Through initiatives such as Black History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, Native American Heritage Month, Pride Week, Women’s History Month, Celebrate Diversity Month and more students are educated on cross-cultural competencies and personal empowerment. Our student-run Multicultural Advisory Council (MAC) spearheads many of our multicultural programming initiatives on campus. Students are also given the opportunity to join other student organizations that represent different ethnicities, cultures, and beliefs.

Students are encouraged to contact us with any questions or needs they may have. We are located in University Commons, Suite 2202. Our hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Contact Freddie Cantu at (361)485-4474 for more information.
