Elementary education teachers help children learn and grow and prepare them for the next stages in their education. The online MEd in curriculum and instruction, elementary math education concentration helps you do just that by enhancing your teaching and classroom skills and providing you the opportunity to do research within your interest area.

Before you get started, you’ll need

  • A bachelor’s degree
  • The prerequisites required by the education college’s admissions policy
  • Appropriate teaching or related experience
  • Access to a computer, webcam, and high-speed Internet as well as basic computer and word-processing skills

Degrees You Can Earn

MEd in Curriculum & Instruction, Elementary Math Education: You can concentrate your math education degree for early childhood through grade six or for grades four through eight.

Your degree will culminate in the Master’s Comprehensive Examination, which will cover the content of one education core course and the content of two courses within your major area.

Where Can This Degree Take You?

Well, where would you like to go? Teachers are wanted all over the state of Texas in public and private schools.  Math teachers in particular are in great demand.  With greater expertise in this area, you could teach and coach others in this specialty, be an education consultant at a regional service center, or take on the role of Math curriculum director or assist in writing Math education policies at the local, state or national level, or be an instructor at a community college.
