Educational Administration and Supervision

The Faculty and Administration of the College of Education & Health Professions no longer require the GRE for Graduate admissions. Instead, students will be required to have a minimum undergraduate coursework GPA as determined by the individual program to which they are applying. For students who do not meet the minimum GPA requirements set by the program to which they are applying, the GRE will be required for graduate admissions. All Graduate admissions documents (recommendation letters, essays, and other required graduation materials) need to be directed to gradadmissions@uhv.edu.

Before you get started, you’ll need

• A bachelor’s degree or master’s degree from an accredited program
• A minimum of two years of teaching experience in an accredited school
• The prerequisites required by the admissions policy of UHV’s School of Education, Health Professions and Human Development
• Access to a computer, webcam, and high-speed Internet as well as basic computer and word-processing skills

Master of Education in Administration & Supervision with an Emphasis on Non-Public Administration focused on the needs of non-public school administrators. You'll earn you your M.Ed. in Administration and Supervision, and be better equipped to lead the non‑public school you currently serve or hope to serve someday.

Master of Education in Administration & Supervision with an Emphasis on Organizational Leadership Interested in advancing your knowledge and credentials related to educational leadership, but not interested in pursuing principal licensure? UHV offers a Master of Education in Administration & Supervision with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership.

Other Options

Graduate Certificate Preparation Program – Principal  
If you already have a master’s degree you can pursue principal licensure without going through the full educational administration degree coursework. Instead, you will take five required courses toward your certification and complete a practicum/internship experience. During the initial advisement process, your advisor will determine whether you have any knowledge or instructional gaps that could have a negative impact on your success on the certification assessments. If you do, you may be required to take additional coursework.

Graduate Certificate Preparation Program – Superintendent  
If you are currently practicing in an administrative role, or for those who possess a master’s degree and Principal Certificate, this program’s online format allows you to complete your superintendent certification on your own schedule and, ideally, in four semesters. You will be required to successfully complete the TExES #195 Superintendent Certification exam in order to obtain your licensure
