Concentration Courses

Choose your MBA concentration

All of our Strategic and Global MBA students must take 6 hours within a concentration in addition to the required courses. Choose the concentration that you are most passionate about or speak to one of our advisors to determine which concentration will strengthen your chances for accomplishing your goals.

Accounting

Our MBA concentration in accounting preps you for the CPA exam. Take this path and you'll be a financial and business strategist ready to implement long-term plans for your organization. Students from non-accounting undergraduate programs will need to complete additional undergraduate accounting prerequisite courses.
 
Strategic MBA students should complete the following required course:
  • Required: ACCT 6371 - Advanced Auditing

And choose 2 from (one will be used to satisfy the free elective requirement):

Economic Development

Make an impact in the communities you work in with a concentration in economic development.

Strategic MBA students should choose two of the courses listed:

  • EDEN 6350 – Introduction to Economic Development and Entrepreneurship
  • EDEN 6355 – Economic Development and Entrepreneurial Finance
  • EDEN 6356 – Methods in Economic Development
  • EDEN 6357 – Practice of local Economic Development 
  • EDEN 6358 – Theory & Practice of Regional Economic Development 

Entrepreneurship

Choose a concentration in entrepreneurship while completing your Strategic or Global MBA, and you'll be developing strategies for the start-up phase of a new business and on into the next phase.

Finance

Become the leader who can analyze and develop management strategies by focusing your concentration on finance. MBA students may choose to complete either four finance electives or three finance electives plus one accounting, economics or study abroad elective.

General Business

Deepen your knowledge in different disciplines so you can manage with a breadth of knowledge. Strategic MBA students should choose any two concentration elective courses, including study abroad (BUSI 6391).

Human Resources Management

Connect the dots between long-term planning and HR initiatives.
