College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences Scholarships

 

Academic Center Peer Writing Tutor Scholarship: Awarded to students enrolled in at least three credit hours with a minimum 3.00 grade-point average who also serve as tutors at the UHV Academic Center.

Alcoa Math Awareness Scholarship: Awarded to math or secondary math education majors with a minimum 3.50 GPA or winner of Math Awareness Competition.

Alcorn Excellence Endowment: Awarded to full-time students within the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences with a minimum 2.50 GPA and in good academic standing.

American Advertising Federation – Victoria Endowed Scholarship: Awarded to undergraduate students who are enrolled at least half time and majoring in communications, marketing or advertising. Preference will be given to members of the Student Advertising Federation Club at Victoria College or UHV.

Biology Graduate Assistant Scholarship: Awarded to a biology major recommended by the biology professors.

Bob & Lee Zawadzki Scholarship Endowment: Awarded to Texas graduate students majoring in special education with a minimum 3.25 GPA; based on needs.

Bryce & Jan Scott Scholarship Endowment: Awarded to degree-seeking undergraduate students enrolled at least three-quarter time, majoring in applied arts and sciences, biology, accounting, math or management. Must maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA. Preference given to first-generation students active in community service.

Bumgardner Morrison Scholarship: Awarded to full-time undergraduate accounting majors with a minimum 2.50 GPA.

George Hime Scholarship: Awarded to accounting majors with a minimum 2.00 GPA; based on needs.

Gyda Hallum Scholarship Endowment: Awarded to psychology majors with a minimum 3.50 GPA.

HEB Tournament of Champions Scholarship: Awarded to new Degree in Three students selected by the dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences.

Lynette S. Autrey Scholarship Endowment: Awarded to students within the schools of Arts & Sciences and Business Administration with a minimum 3.00 GPA; based on financial need.

Mary V. O’Brien O’Connor Scholarship Endowment: Awarded to Arts & Sciences, Business Administration or Education & Human Development majors enrolled in at least three credit hours with a minimum 2.50 GPA. Preference given to single parents and need.

M.S. in Computer Information Systems International Student Scholarship: Awarded to an international graduate student majoring in the master’s program in computer information systems and enrolled in at least three credit hours with a minimum 3.00 GPA.

RJ Mitchell Math & Physical Science Scholarship Endowment: Awarded to a graduate or undergraduate student enrolled at least half time and majoring in math or science.

Victoria Eye Center Scholarship Endowment: Awarded to full time freshmen or sophomores majoring in math or science with a minimum 2.00 GPA and demonstrated leadership.
