Honors & Community Service-Based Scholarships
Castille Presidential Scholarship Endowment: Awarded to full-time students with a minimum 3.0 grade-point average every semester. Students must graduate in the top 15 percent of their high school graduating class and have an ACT score of 27 or higher, or a SAT score of 1,100 or higher. Students must submit a 750- to 1,000-word essay explaining how they plan to use their higher education to make a contribution to society. Students must remain in good standing at UHV and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
Katherine Caldwell Leadership Scholarship: Awarded to a student who demonstrates substantial leadership potential, as well as financial need.
Martha Kime Piper Scholarship Endowment: Awarded to students who serve as Student Government Association president, vice president, secretary and/or treasurer. Students must be enrolled at least half time and have a minimum 2.0 GPA.
Pan American Golf Association Presidential Scholarship Endowment: Awarded to full-time students with a minimum 3.0 GPA every semester. Students must have graduated in the top 15 percent of their high school graduating class and score a 27 or higher on the ACT, or a 1,100 or higher on the SAT. Students must submit a 750- to 1,000-word essay explaining how they plan to use their higher education to make a contribution to society. Student must remain in good standing at UHV and complete the FAFSA.
Students Come First Scholarship Endowment: Awarded to a new or continuing graduate or undergraduate student with demonstrated leadership and documented volunteerism. Based on financial need, students must maintain a minimum 2.0 undergraduate GPA or minimum 3.0 graduate GPA.
Urmil Bhatia Scholarship for U.S. Veterans: Awarded to U.S. veterans enrolled at UHV.
Wayne & Cheryl Beran Scholarship Endowment: Awarded to Goliad Independent School District graduates ranking in the top 50 percent of their class with a minimum 2.0 GPA. Students must have demonstrated leadership and financial need but not be eligible for federal grants.
