Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)

(Offered Completely Online)

Educators and professionals working with people with disabilities in schools, community service agencies as well as residential settings wishing to obtain knowledge and expertise in the area of Applied Behavior Analysis can now get their master’s in Special Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis at UHV. The Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc. ® has approved the following course sequence as meeting the coursework requirements for eligibility to take the Board Certified Behavior Analyst Examination ®. Applicants will have to meet additional requirements to qualify. Please note that the completion of the certification process to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst is independent of the University of Houston – Victoria. Request more information about the degree or program that aligns with your career goals.

The ABA course sequence includes the following courses:

  1. SPED 6332 Principles of Behavior for the Educator (offered Fall)
  2. SPED 6338 Behavior Intervention Procedures for Educators (offered Spring)
  3. SPED 6331 Behavior Assessment and Adjustment of Exceptional Children and Youth (offered summer)
  4. SPED 6336 Behavior Applications Focus on Autism and Developmental Disabilities (offered Summer)
  5. SPED 6325 Applied Behavior Analysis (offered Fall) Students pursuing the ABA concentration should take SPED 6332, SPED 6338, and SPED 6331 prior to enrolling in SPED 6325.
  6. SPED 6335 Ethical and Professional Conduct for the Applied Behavior Analyst (New for Fourth Edition Course Sequence)
